Donald Cerrone Says Grandma Cerrone Spoke With Mike Winklejohn At UFC Fight Night Denver

MMA

Donald Cerrone made history at UFC Fight Night Denver, defeating Mike Perry by first round submission to earn the most wins in UFC history and the most finishes in UFC history.

There was a lot of drama surrounding Cerrone and Team Jackson-Winklejohn leading into the event and Grandma Cerrone has a few words with Mike Winklejohn after the bout.

“My grandma went and told Winkeljohn, ‘You should have bet on the dinosaur,'” Cerrone said to MMA Junkie. “He knows what he did. It’s all over money, too. That’s the worst part. Looks like he’s still not getting paid, is he?”

Cerrone left Team Jackson-Winklejohn before the bout due to issues with fighting a now former teammate in Perry, which lead to a lot of verbal back and forth between the fighter and the training camp.

The former Jackson-Winklejohn entered the fight with something the fighter had during his time at the camp, which was a game plan.

“It’s crazy – moving away from (Mike) Winkeljohn’s gym at (Jackson Wink MMA Academy), we actually had a game plan coming into a fight,” Cerrone said. “I’ve never really had a game plan.”

No comments have been given by either Winklejohn or Greg Jackson following the fight with the estranged Cerrone.
