Curtis Millender is back in the Octagon at UFC Fight Night Wichita, facing Elizeu Zaleski Dos Santos in a welterweight division clash.
The welterweight prospect would like to fight the winner of the upcoming bout between Darren Till and Jorge Masvidal, a contest Millender knows he can get with a finish at UFC Fight Night Wichita.
“Finish definitely, I would have to get that. I think with this win, it puts me in a spot to get the fight I want…from #13 up (in the rankings). But I am ready for that big fight, I know I have that confidence to go in there now and fight the top ten…the top five,” says Millender in an exclusive interview with Fightful’s James Lynch.
Till and Masvidal are scheduled to headline UFC Fight Night London on March 16.
Millender is still growing as a professional MMA fighter and one thing he knows that has to be worked on heading into Wichita is how to breathe better when competing.
“One of the bad takeaways from the last fight is that I wasn’t controlling my breathing or something, I just felt like my breathing was off. Not even just in the fight, but the whole last camp. I’m focused more on the breathing and exploding when I need to explode and not wasting any of the explosions,” says Millender.
UFC Fight Night Wichita takes place on Saturday, March 9 from the Intrust bank Arena in Wichita, Kansas with Derrick Lewis and Junior Dos Santos headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
