Glover Teixeira defeated Thiago Santos in the main event of UFC Vegas 13, putting him in line for a shot at the UFC light heavyweight title, which is a belt Israel Adesanya also wants.
The Brazilian fighter says there is “no doubt” that he should be getting the next shot at the light heavyweight strap, currently held by Jan Blachowicz.
"My last five fights, I got four finishes [against] top contenders... I was able to finish guys who went to decisions with Jon Jones,” Teixeira said at the post-fight press conference.
Teixeira has previously challenged for the light heavyweight title, losing to then champion Jon Jones at UFC 172 in April of 2014.
On the UFC Vegas 13 post-fight show, a victorious Teixeira pleaded with UFC President Dana White for the next title shot.
"Dana White, come on man... Give me that title shot,” Teixeira said.
