Jan Blachowicz: “I Have Heard That Israel Adesanya Wants To Face Me Next”

Jan Blachowicz became the UFC light heavyweight champion last month at UFC 253 and it seems like he may have his first title defense lined up, with that bout being against UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya.

Adesanya has hinted at moving up a weight class to challenge for the light heavyweight gold and Blachowicz seems open to the fight.

Blachowicz posted the following on Twitter:

“I have heard that Israel Adesanya wants to face me next. No problem, If you are ready to fight in March, let's do this. Prepare for a some fireworks guys”

This plan by Blachowicz and Adesanya can provide a few hiccups in their respective weight classes, as UFC President Dana White seemed interested in booking Adesanya in a rematch with Robert Whittaker, while the winner of the UFC Vegas 13 main event between Thiago Santos and Glover Teixeira is expected to be next for Blachowicz.

There is no word yet from the UFC or Adesanya as to whether or not the potential super fight will go down.
