Mike Mazzulli Responds To AJ Agazarm’s Claims Of Biased Judging At Bellator 243

AJ Agazarm and Cris Lencioni met on the preliminary card of Bellator 243, with Lencioni pulling out a unanimous decision win on that night.

A defeated Agazarm claimed that judge Douglas Crosby showed bias during the fight, but Crosby was the only one who scored a round in favor of Agazarm, and Mohegan Tribe Commission head Mike Mazzulli says Agazarm got the wrong judge in those bias claims.

“What I don’t like is a fighter that has opinions that aren’t merited at all,” Mazzulli said to MMA Junkie. “There’s no merit in that at all. Basically, AJ came to me afterward and state that he couldn’t believe there was a 30-26 score. He automatically assumed that it was Doug Crosby and that was incorrect.”

It is unknown at this time which judge scored the bout 30-26 in favor of Lencioni, but it wasn’t Crosby.

Referee Mike Beltran also forced Agazarm and Lencioni to shake hands after the hotly contested fight, which is something that Mazzulli says was simply the ref trying to do the right thing.

“It wasn’t necessary, but he was only trying to do the right thing,” Mazzulli said.

There is no word yet on whether or not Agazarm will face any punishment for his actions, as the fighter also flipped over Lencioni after the bout and held a post-fight scrum that was meant for fighters who won their bouts.
