Former UFC title challenger Nate Diaz has publicly requested his release from the UFC.
Diaz made the request via the following tweet posted this past Saturday afternoon, revealing he has grown tired of waiting for the promotion to give him a fight. The 36-year old Stockton, California native hasn't competed since UFC 263 last June where he lost via a unanimous decision to Leon Edwards. He's continuously lobbied for a fight with former interim UFC lightweight champion, Dustin Poirier, but for unknown reasons the matchup hasn't materialized.
I Would like to request to be released from the @ufc @danawhite @hunter
