Oscar De La Hoya Calls Boxing An Embarrassment, Says Fans Are Flocking To UFC & MLB

Oscar De La Hoya, at 47 years old, recently announced that he is making a return to professional boxing.

It appears that the legendary boxer could be reentering a sport that isn’t what it once was, as De La Hoya took to twitter to call boxing an embarrassment, while also claiming boxing fans are flocking to the UFC and Major League Baseball (MLB):

De La Hoya, in the Twitter post, also claimed that he is working with DAZN to book Canelo Alvarez’s next fight, while De La Hoya says will get the sport back on track.

The boxing great did try to get some MMA fans of his own with Golden Boy MMA, but the promotion ran one event headlined by Tito Ortiz defeating Chuck Liddell and Golden Boy MMA hasn’t been heard of since.
