Petr Yan returns to the Octagon this weekend at UFC Fight Night Prague, facing John Dodson in a bantamweight division affair.
TJ Dillashaw is the current UFC Bantamweight Champion and Yan would like to see him either defend or vacate the gold.
“I think Dillashaw shouldn’t go down,” Yan told MMA Junkie. “He either has to defend his title or he can go home and vacate his title.”
Dillashaw was last seen in action at UFC Fight Night Brooklyn, suffering a first round knockout loss to UFC Flyweight Champion Henry Cejudo. Dillashaw last defended the bantamweight title against Cody Garbrandt at UFC 227, winning via first round TKO.
Yan also is taking shots at fellow bantamweight John Lineker, whom Yan says chooses easier opponents to fight.
“He always says that no one wants to fight him, but when it comes time to fight, he always chooses someone easier, not me,” Yan said. “Right now, I don’t really think about him too much. I’m only interested in him because he’s higher in the ranking than me, but I think after this fight, I will be looking to other options.”
UFC Fight Night Prague takes place on Saturday, February 23 from the 02 Arena in Prague, Czech Republic with Jan Blachowicz and Thiago Santos headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
