Report: Aleksandra Albu Faces Emily Whitmire At UFC Fight Night Phoenix

A women’s strawweight division attraction is the latest addition to UFC Fight Night Phoenix according to Farah Hannoun as Aleksandra Albu takes on Emily Whitmire.

The bout was originally scheduled for UFC 233, but the bout was moved to UFC Fight Night Phoenix after UFC 233 was taken off the calendar

Albu (3-0-0) has already picked up two victories in UFC competition, having defeated Izabela Badurek at UFC Fight Night 64 and Kailin Curran at UFC 214. Albu has fought just three times as a professional MMA fighter despite making her professional MMA debut over five years ago. Albu has picked up three wins since turning pro, with one coming by KO/TKO, one coming by submission and one coming by way of decision.

Whitmire (3-2-0) has won just one of two bouts under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming over Jamie Moyle at UFC 226. Whitmire also competed on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 26, making it to the quarterfinals of the reality show before losing to Roxanne Modafferi. Whitmire has picked up three victories as a professional MMA fighter and each of them coming by way of decision.

UFC Fight Night Phoenix takes place on Sunday, February 17 from the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, Arizona with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
