A heavyweight division attraction will headline UFC Fight Night Washington DC according to Brett Okamoto of ESPN as #7 Alistair Overeem is going to be in action against #11 Walt Harris.
Overeem (45-17-0-1NC) enters the contest while in the midst of a two fight winning streak, defeating the duo of Sergei Pavlovich and Aleksei Oleinik. Overeem hasn’t suffered a defeat in over a year, with that last loss coming against Curtis Blaydes at UFC 225. Overeem has previously headlined four UFC cards and he holds a record of 3-1-0 in those encounters.
Harris (13-7-0-1NC) has won three of his last four heading into this bout, with those wins coming over the three pack of Daniel Spitz, Sergey Spivak and Aleksei Oleinik. Harris is going to be headlining his first UFC card, despite having been with the promotion for two separate runs, with the first beginning almost five years ago. Harris has picked up thirteen wins as a professional MMA fighter and all of those wins came by way of KO/TKO.
UFC Fight Night Washington DC takes place on Saturday, December 7 from the Capital One Arena in Washington DC with Alistair Overeem and Walt Harris headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
