Former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva has not competed since losing to Jared Cannonier at UFC 237, but that is about to change.
UFC President Dana White believes Silva’s next fight is going to be his last; however, he would rather let Silva make the official announcement.
“We’re working on a fight for him coming up soon here,” White said after Dana White’s Contender Series Episode 29 (via Nolan King & Ken Hathaway of MMA Junkie). “He will fight again. I met with his managers the other day. This will be his last fight. This will be his last fight. I think he’s going to retire. That’s not our business. That’s up to him. That’s up to him. Let him do this the way he wants to do it.”
Silva's final opponent will likely be The Ultimate Fighter alumni Uriah Hall.
“We’re talking about putting him in a very competitive fight that should be fun... Uriah Hall,” White said.
Sherdog has since reported the bout between Silva and Hall will headline the Fight Night card on October 31.
UFC Fight Night: Hall vs. Silva takes place on Saturday, October 31 from a location to be announced with Uriah Hall and Anderson Silva headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be announced.
