A heavyweight division attraction has been added to a yet to be announced UFC card on January 16 as Carlos Felipe faces Justin Tafa.
Combate first reported the news.
Felipe (9-1-0) has won just one of two under the UFC banner with that lone win coming over Yorgan De Castro at UFC Fight Island 4. Felipe’s two UFC bouts have gone to the judges' scorecards and it has been over three years since the fighter has gotten a finish. Felipe has competed 10 times as a professional MMA fighter and four of those bouts went the distance.
Tafa (4-1-0) has also won just one of two in the UFC with his lone victory coming over Juan Adams at UFC 247 in February of 2020. Tafa is competing on a non-UFC pay-per-view event for the first time in his UFC run, which began in late-2019. Tafa has competed five times as a professional MMA fighter and none of those bouts went the distance.
The yet to be announced UFC card is set for Saturday, January 16 from a location to be announced with the main event to be announced. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
