Daniel Pineda, over six years after his last Octagon appearance, has reportedly signed a new deal with the UFC.
Iridium Sports, who represents Pineda, revealed the news through Instagram:
Pineda (26-13-0-2NC) has not competed since failing a drug test while under contract to the PFL, which led to the fighter serving a six month suspension. Pineda won three of seven during his first run with the UFC, with those wins coming over Mackens Sermerzier, Pat Schilling and Justin Lawrence. Pineda also won just one of three in Bellator MMA, with that lone win coming over Mark Dickman at Bellator 161. Pineda has competed a total of forty one times as a professional MMA fighter and five of those bouts went the distance.
There is no word yet on when Pineda’s return fight with the UFC will take place or whom that bout will come against.
