A lightweight division attraction has reportedly been added to the UFC On Fox 30 card as #3 Eddie Alvarez faces #4 Dustin Poirier.

It was Alvarez who revealed the news through Twitter:

Alvarez (29-5-0-1NC) fought Poirier the first time at UFC 211, but the bout ended in a no contest due to accidental and illegal knee strikes from Alvarez. Alvarez is a former UFC Lightweight Champion, defeating Rafael Dos Anjos at UFC Fight Night 90 to claim the gold. Alvarez is also a former two time Bellator MMA Lightweight Champion, defeating Michael Chandler and Toby Imada to start both reigns.

Poirier (23-5-0-1NC) has been undefeated since the first meeting against Alvarez, defeating the duo of Justin Gaethje and Anthony Pettis. Poirier hasn’t suffered a defeat in almost two years, with that loss coming to Michael Johnson at UFC Fight Night 94. Poirier has competed as both a lightweight and a featherweight in the UFC, but he hasn’t competed as a featherweight since a loss to Conor McGregor at UFC 178.

UFC On Fox 30 takes place on Saturday, July 28 from the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox.
