A pair of lightweight division fighters are set to clash at UFC On Fox 30 according to TASS as Kajan Johnson is going to be facing Islam Makhachev.
Johnson (23-11-1) enters the contest on the strength of a four fight winning streak, defeating Lipeng Zhang, Naoyuki Kotani, Adriano Martins and Stevie Ray. Johnson has suffered just a single defeat under the UFC banner, with that loss coming to Tae Hyun Bang at UFC 174. Johnson hasn’t suffered a loss in over four years, as that aforementioned bout at UFC 174 took place in June of 2014.
Makhachev (15-1-0) has won four of five fights under the UFC banner, but hasn’t suffered a loss in almost three years. Makhachev also spent some time fighting in the M-1 Challenge promotion, winning two fights there by submission and the other two by way of decision. Makhachev had previously fought on four UFC pay-per-view cards, earning a record of 3-1-0 in those appearances.
UFC on Fox 30 takes place on Saturday, July 28 from a location to be announced in Canada with a main event to be announced. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox.
