Billy Quarantillo was in need of a new opponent for UFC Fight Night Washington DC after the withdrawal of Chris Fishgold and now he has one because Jacob Kilburn has accepted the short notice opportunity.
MMA Junkie first reported the news and the bout is still expected to be a part of the preliminary card.
Quarantillo (12-2-0) is going to be making his UFC debut in this bout and does so on the strength of a five fight winning streak. Quarantillo competed on Dana White’s Contender Series Season 3, Episode 5, defeating Kamuela Kirk by third round TKO. Quarantillo also competed on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 22, making it to the second round before losing to Saul Rogers by unanimous decision.
Kilburn (8-2-0) is also making his UFC debut in this bout and does so while riding a two fight winning streak. Kilburn also competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 16, suffering a second round submission loss to Bobby Moffett. Kilburn has competed a total of ten times as a professional MMA fighter and just two of those encounters went the distance.
UFC Fight Night Washington DC takes place on Saturday, December 7 from the Capitol One Arena in Washington DC with Alistair Overeem and Jairzinho Rozenstruik headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
