John Makdessi has suffered an injury and has been pulled from UFC 231, replacing him against Carlos Diego Ferreira is going to be Jesse Ronson.
The injury was first reported by Ken Wong, it is unknown at this time as to how long Makdessi could be out of action for.
Ferreira (13-2-0) also enters the contest riding a two bout winning streak, with his wins coming over the duo of Olivier Aubin-Mercier and Jared Gordon. Ferreira is a former Legacy Fighting Championships Lightweight Champion, defeating Jorge Patino to win the gold at Legacy FC 25. Ferreira has suffered just two defeats as a professional MMA fighter, with those defeats coming against Dustin Poirier and Beneil Dariush.
Ronson (20-8-0) is going to be starting a second run with the UFC and does so on the strength of a five fight winning streak. Ronson went winless during his first run with the UFC, dropping bouts to the trio of Michel Prazeres, Francisco Trinaldo and Kevin Lee. Ronson is the current TKO MMA Welterweight Champion, defeating Michael Dufort by split decision to claim the gold at TKO 44.
UFC 231 takes place on Saturday, December 8 from the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada with Max Holloway and Brian Ortega headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
