Report: Kyle Daukaus Replaces Ian Heinisch At UFC Fight Night: Poirier vs. Hooker

Ian Heinisch has suffered an injury and has been pulled from UFC Fight Night: Poirier vs. Hooker, replacing him against Brendan Allen is Kyle Daukaus.

James Lynch of TSN first reported the news, but the nature of Heinisch’s injury is unknown at this time.

Allen (14-3-0) is undefeated thus far in UFC competition, picking up wins over Kevin Holland and Tom Breese. Allen is a former LFA Middleweight Champion, defeating Moses Murrietta to win the gold at LFA 61 in February of last year. Allen comes into the bout riding a six fight winning streak and he hasn’t been beaten in over two years.

Daukaus (9-0-0) is making his UFC debut in this bout and does so with an undefeated streak that has lasted over three years. Daukaus competed on Dana White’s Contender Series Season 3, Episode 2, defeating Michael Lombardo by unanimous decision. Daukaus has picked up nine wins as a professional MMA fighter and eight of them came by way of submission.

UFC Fight Night: Poirier vs. Hooker takes place on Saturday, June 27 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Dustin Poirier and Dan Hooker headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
