Report: Nate Landwehr Tests Positive For COVID-19, Replaced By Ludovit Klein At UFC 253

Nate Landwehr has tested positive for COVID-19 and has been pulled from UFC 253, replacing him against Shane Young is Ludovit Klein.

Young (13-4-0) enters the contest riding a two fight winning streak, picking up wins over Rolando Dy and Austin Arnett. Young is competing for the first time in almost two years, with his last professional MMA fighter happening in February of 2019. Young has suffered all four of his pro MMA losses by decision, while the fighter has also won three bouts by decision.

Klein (16-2-0) is making his UFC debut in this bout and does so on the strength of a seven fight winning streak. Klein is a former Oktagon MMA lightweight champion, defeating Matej Kuznik at Oktagon 5 to win the gold. Klein has competed 18 times as a professional MMA fighter and just one of those encounters went the distance.

UFC 253 takes place on Saturday, September 26 from Fight Island in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi with Israel Adesanya and Paulo Costa headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+ pay-per-view.
