A lightweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night Tampa according to Marcel Dorff of MMA DNA as Luis Pena is going to be in action against Matt Frevola.
Pena (7-1-0) has won three of four under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over the trio of Richie Smullen, Steven Peterson and Matt Wiman. Pena has suffered just a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came against Michael Trizano at UFC Fight Night Denver. Pena competed on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 27, but was unable to finish his time on the reality show due to injury.
Frevola (7-1-1) has won just one of three in the UFC and that lone victory came over Jalin Turner via unanimous decision at UFC 236. Frevola also competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 8, defeating Jose Flores by second round submission. Frevola also competed once in the World Series Of Fighting, defeating Josh Zuckerman by first round submission at the WSOF 15.
UFC Fight Night Tampa takes place on Saturday, October 12 from the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida with Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Michelle Waterson headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
