Report: Mackenzie Dern vs. Virna Jandiroba At UFC 256

Two nearly undefeated women's strawweights will collide at UFC 256 when Mackenzie Dern fights Virna Jandiroba.

The fight was initially reported by MMA Fighting. Dern (9-1) is coming off consecutive first-round submission wins over Randa Markos and Hannah Cifers, earning back-to-back Performance of the Night bonuses. The submission-specialist will have an 11-week turnaround against Jandiroba. The two savvy grapplers have a combined 19 submission wins in 25 professional victories.

Jandiroba (16-1) is also riding a two-fight winning streak with back-to-back submissions. Her first-round armbar against Felice Herring at UFC 252 earned her a Performance of the Night bonus, and she beat Mallory Martin via second-round rear-naked choke.

UFC 256 takes place on Saturday, December 12 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. The card was intended to be headlined by UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman and title challenger Gilbert Burns. That fight was scrapped but the card still boasts Amanda Nunes vs. Megan Anderson for the UFC women's featherweight title.
