Report: Mads Burnell Signs With Bellator

Former UFC fighter and current Cage Warriors Featherweight Champion Mads Burnell has found a new home after reportedly signed a deal with Bellator.

Aaron Bronsteter of TSN first reported the news, but the length of the contract and any financial numbers associated with the deal have yet to be revealed.

Burnell (13-3-0) enters the promotion riding a four-fight winning streak. Those victories come over Lukasz Rajewski, Ahmed Vila, Dean Trueman and Steve Aimable. Burnell became the Cage Warriors featherweight champion at Cage Warriors 106, defeating the aforementioned Trueman by second-round submission. Burnell won just one of three fights when competing under the UFC banner. That lone victory came at the expense of Mike Santiago at UFC Fight Night St. Louis. Eight of Burnell's 13 wins come by way of submission.

There is no word at this time as to when Burnell will make his promotional debut.
