Alonzo Menifield has been pulled from UFC Fight Night Washington DC, replacing him against Trevor Smith is Makhmud Muradov.
MMA Junkie reported the news, but the bouts placement on the card isn’t known at this time.
Smith (15-9-0) enters the contest while in the midst of a two fight losing streak, dropping bouts to the duo of Elias Theodorou and Zak Cummings. Smith is making his UFC Light Heavyweight Division debut in this encounter, having previously competed at middleweight. Smith has seen his last six professional MMA bouts go to a decision and it has been over seven years since the fighter got a finish.
Muradov (23-6-0) is undefeated thus far under the UFC banner, having defeated Alessio Di Chirico at UFC Fight Night Copenhagen. Muradov enters the contest while riding a twelve fight winning streak and he hasn’t suffered a defeat in nearly three years. Muradov has picked up twenty three wins as a professional MMA fighter and fifteen of them have come by way of KO/TKO.
UFC Fight Night Washington DC takes place on Saturday, December 7 from the Capitol One Arena in Washington DC with Alistair Overeem and Jairzinho Rozenstruik headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
