Report: Mallory Martin Replaces Livinha Souza At UFC Fight Night Washington DC

Livinha Souza has suffered a back injury and has been pulled from UFC Fight Night Washington DC, replacing her against Virna Jandiroba is Mallory Martin.

MMA Fighting first reported the news and the bout is expected to be a part of the preliminary card.

Jandiroba (14-1-0) is winless thus far in UFC competition, having dropped a bout to Carla Esparza via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night Fort Lauderdale. Jandiroba is a former Invicta FC Strawweight Champion, defeating Mizuki Inoue to win the gold at Invicta FC 28. Jandiroba has picked up fourteen wins as a professional MMA fighter and eleven of them have come by way of submission.

Martin (6-2-0) is going to be making her UFC debut in this bout and does so on a five fight winning streak. Martin hasn’t suffered a defeat in over two years, with that last loss coming to Maycee Barber at LFA 22. Martin also competed on Dana White’s Contender Series Season 3, Episode 9, defeating Micol DiSegni by unanimous decision. 

UFC Fight Night Washington DC takes place on Saturday, December 7 from the Capital One Arena in Washington DC with Alistair Overeem and Jairzinho Rozenstruik headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
