Report: Martin Day Faces Chris Gutierrez At UFC Fight Night Nashville

A bantamweight division attraction is the latest addition to UFC Fight Night Nashville according to Farah Hannoun as Martin Day is going to be in action against Chris Gutierrez.

Day (8-3-0) is currently winless under the UFC banner, having dropped a bout to Pingyuan Liu by split decision at UFC Fight Night Beijing. Day also competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 6, suffering a unanimous decision loss to Jaime Alvarez. Day has suffered three losses as a professional MMA fighter, but he has yet to be beaten by way of submission.

Gutierrez (12-4-1) is also winless thus far in his journey through the UFC, dropping a bout to Raoni Barcelos at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 28 Finale. Gutierrez is a former Sugar Creek Showdown Bantamweight Champion, defeating Bendy Casimir to win the gold at SCS 27. Gutierrez has competed a total of seventeen times as a professional MMA fighter and nearly half of those bouts went the distance.

UFC Fight Night Nashville takes place on Saturday, March 23 from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee with Stephen Thompson and Anthony Pettis headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
