A welterweight division encounter has been added to UFC 226 according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal as Mike Perry faces Yancy Medeiros.
Perry (11-3-0) enters the contest while riding a two fight losing streak, dropping bouts to the duo of Max Griffin and Santiago Ponzinibbio. Perry has suffered a total of three losses as a professional MMA fighter, with all of those defeats coming by way of decision. Perry may have suffered all of his professional MMA defeats by decision, but the fighters has earned all eleven wins by KO/TKO.
Medeiros (15-5-0-1NC) has won three of his last four under the UFC banner, with those three wins coming over the trio of Sean Spencer, Erick Silva and Alex Oliveira. Medeiros previously competed in the UFC Lightweight Division, holding a record of 4-4-0-1NC during his time at 155 pounds. Medeiros is also coming off of his first main event appearance for the UFC, suffering a first round TKO loss to Donald Cerrone at UFC Fight Night Austin.
