Alex Oliveira was in need of a new foe for UFC Fight Night Fort Lauderdale after the withdrawal of Li Jingliang and now he has one because Ariel Helwani of ESPN is reporting that Mike Perry has accepted the short notice opportunity.
Oliveira (19-6-1-2NC) has won two of his last three bouts under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over the duo of Carlos Condit and Carlo Pedersoli Jr. Oliveira has competed as both a lightweight and welterweight in the UFC, earning an overall record of 9-4-0-1NC. Oliveira has picked up nineteen wins as a professional MMA fighter and twelve of those wins came by way of KO/TKO.
Perry (12-4-0) has won just one of his last four in the UFC, with that lone win coming against Paul Felder at UFC 226. Perry hasn’t picked up a victory in almost a year, with that victory at UFC 226 coming back in July of 2018. Perry has picked up twelve wins as a professional MMA fighter and eleven of those victories came by way of KO/TKO.
UFC Fight Night Fort Lauderdale takes place on Saturday, April 27 from the BB&T Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with Yoel Romero and Ronaldo Souza headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
