A lightweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night Adelaide according to Farah Hannoun as Mizuto Hirota is in action against Christos Giagos.
Hirota (18-9-2) enters the contest while in the midst of a two fight losing streak, dropping fights to the duo of Alexander Volkanovski and Ross Pearson. Hirota hasn’t picked up a victory in almost two years, with that last win coming against Cole Miller at UFC On Fox 22. Hirota has seen his last four fights go the distance and it has been nearly four years since the fighter got a finish.
Giagos (15-7-0) is currently winless in his second run with the UFC, having dropped a bout to Charles Oliveira via second round submission at UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo. Giagos won just one of three bouts during that first stint with the UFC and that lone win came over Jorge Antonio Cezario De Oliveira at UFC Fight Night 62. Giagos is a former Respect In The Cage Lightweight Champion, defeating Joe Camacho to win the gold in November of 2011.
UFC Fight Night Adelaide takes place on Saturday, December 1 from the Adelaide Entertainment Centre in Adelaide, Australia with Junior Dos Santos and Tai Tuivasa headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
