Combate Americas held an event this past Friday Night, with such luminaries as Chris Avila, Horacio Gutierrez and Lizbeth Lopez Silva in action.
However, one of the biggest pieces of action that happened at the event was a physical altercation between UFC veterans Nate Diaz and Clay Guida.
TUF 27 contestant Tyler Diamond was present and involved in the altercation and tweeted about it a short time later:
Next time you really wanna be about it don’t get behind your groupies & weasel away @NateDiaz209. pic.twitter.com/rBzbAr3Zsh

I was talking face to face with Clay, he got pushed & I saw Nate & about ten other dudes so I stepped up with my arms out trying to descalate the situation & Nate then slapped me while one of his groupies rabbit punched me.

The following was also tweeted and later deleted by Diamond:
Nate Diaz just pushed Clay Guida from behind! & I ended up in the middle & he slapped me while his little entourage surround me. #209Bitches

MMA Fighting is also reporting that when Diaz allegedly shoved Guida into a metal guardrail, it split the fighters lip open and caused some bleeding.
Diamond also made the following statement to Fight Book MMA about the altercation:
“So I’ve already vaguely explained what happened on Twitter, but to detail: The show was almost over & as I was talking to Clay face to face, Nate & his crew moved in & Nate shoved Clay in the back. I immediately stepped forward & almost thought it was a joke at first but I tried deescalating the situation – getting in the middle & putting my arms out basically saying, “calm down” I then got slapped by Nate & punched by one of his groupies. There was about ten guys surrounding me. As soon as I got popped I put my hands up & shit started hitting the fan. Quickly him & his crew realized there was more than just a couple of us in the area so him & his groupies got outta there as quickly as they could.“
Guida and Diaz have met in the Octagon once before, with Guida picking up a split decision win at UFC 94.
