A bantamweight division attraction has been added to a yet to be announced UFC card on July 11 as #7 Pedro Munhoz faces #7 (Featherweight) Frankie Edgar.
MMA Fighting first reported the bout, who’s spot on the card isn’t known at this time.
Munhoz (18-4-0-1NC) is competing for the first time in over a year, as his last bout was a loss to Aljamain Sterling at UFC 238. Munhoz has won three of his last five in the UFC, with those wins coming over Brett Johns, Bryan Caraway and Cody Garbrandt. Munhoz has suffered four losses as a professional MMA fighter and all of them came in the UFC.
Edgar (23-8-1) is making his UFC Bantamweight Division debut in this fight and does so having won just one of his last four bouts. Edgar is a former UFC Lightweight Champion, defeating BJ Penn to win the gold at UFC 112 in April of 2010. Edgar has competed in three different weight classes in the UFC and has been with the promotion for over thirteen years.
The yet to be announced UFC card takes place on Saturday, July 11 from a location to be announced and with a main event to be announced. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be announced.
