A women’s strawweight division attraction has been added to UFC 235 according to Brett Okamoto of ESPN as Polyana Viana is competing against Hannah Cifers.
Viana (10-2-0) just made the news recently after beating up a man who tried to rob her in the fighter’s native Brazil. Viana has won just one of two fights under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming over Maia Stevenson at UFC Fight Night Belem. Viana has suffered just two losses as a professional MMA fighter and both of those defeats have come by way of decision.
Cifers (8-3-0) is currently winless in UFC competition, having dropped a bout to Maycee Barber by second round TKO at UFC Fight Night Denver. Cifers has suffered a total of three losses as a professional MMA fighter and all of those defeats have come to past/present UFC fighters. Cifers won four of five fights as an amateur MMA competitor, including a victory to capture the US Freedom Fighter Championship Women’s Strawweight Title.
UFC 235 takes place on Saturday, March 2 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Jon Jones and Anthony Smith potentially headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
