Rafael Dos Anjos vs. Islam Makhachev Headlines UFC Vegas 14

A lightweight division bout between #12 (Welterweight) Rafael Dos Anjos and #12 Islam Makhachev, originally set for UFC 254, will now headline UFC Vegas 14.

The news was revealed during the UFC Vegas 12 broadcast.

Makhachev (18-1-0) enters the contest riding a six fight winning streak with notable victories coming over Nik LentzGleison Tibau and Davi Ramos. Makhachev has suffered a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came to Adriano Martins at UFC 192. Makhachev has competed 19 times as a professional MMA fighter and eight of those encounters went the distance.

Dos Anjos (29-13-0) has won just one of his last five in the UFC with that lone win coming over Kevin Lee at UFC Fight Night Rochester. Dos Anjos is a former UFC lightweight champion, defeating Anthony Pettis to win the gold at UFC 185. Dos Anjos has competed as a lightweight and welterweight in the UFC, earning an overall record of 18-11-0 in the promotion.

UFC Vegas 14 takes place on Saturday, November 14 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Islam Makhachev and Rafael Dos Anjos headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
