Report: Ryan MacDonald Replaces Martin Day At UFC Fight Night Nashville

Martin Day has suffered an injury and has been pulled from UFC Fight Night Nashville according to ESPN MMA (via Nolan King), replacing him against Chris Gutierrez is Ryan MacDonald.

Gutierrez (12-4-1) is also winless thus far in his journey through the UFC, dropping a bout to Raoni Barcelos at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 28 Finale. Gutierrez is a former Sugar Creek Showdown Bantamweight Champion, defeating Bendy Casimir to win the gold at SCS 27. Gutierrez has competed a total of seventeen times as a professional MMA fighter and nearly half of those bouts went the distance.

MacDonald (10-0-0) is going to be making his UFC debut in this fight and does so with an undefeated streak that has lasted almost four years. MacDonald has competed ten times as a professional MMA fighter and has been out of the opening round in nine of those encounters. MacDonald has seen his last three bouts end either with a submission or KO/TKO and it has been almost two years since the fighter went the distance.

UFC Fight Night Nashville takes place on Saturday, March 23 from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee with Stephen Thompson and Anthony Pettis headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
