Report: Scott Holtzman Faces Alan Patrick At UFC 229

A lightweight division attraction has been added to the UFC 229 card according to Combate as Scott Holtzman is going to be in action against Alan Patrick.

Holtzman (11-2-0) enters the contest on the strength of a two fight winning streak, having defeated the duo of Michael McBride and Darrell Horcher. Holtzman has seen his last five bouts go the distance and it has been over three years since the fighter earned a finish. Holtzman is a former Xtreme Fighting Championships Lightweight Champion, defeating Bellator MMA veteran Roger Carroll to win the gold in October of 2013.

Patrick (15-1-0) is coming into the bout while in the midst of a three fight winning streak, defeating the trio of Damien Brown, Stevie Ray and Damir Hadzovic. Patrick has suffered just a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came to Mairbek Taisumov at UFC Fight Night 69. Patrick has picked up a total of five victories under the UFC banner and four of them have come by way of decision.

UFC 229 takes place on Saturday, October 6 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
