There is a new threat in the Bellator MMA Bantamweight Division as Shawn Bunch has signed a multi-fight deal with the promotion.

MMA Junkie first reported the news, but did not specify how many fights the contract is for or any financial numbers associated with the deal.

Bunch holds a 5-2-0 record in Bellator MMA (8-3-0 overall), with those victories coming over former Bellator MMA Bantamweight Champion Joe Warren, Chad Coon, Russell Wilson, David Duran and Rolando Perez. Those two losses that Bunch suffered under the Bellator MMA banner came to current Bellator Bantamweight Champion Darrion Caldwell and Steve Garcia.

The newly signed fighter is signing with the promotion while in the midst of a four fight winning streak and he hasn’t suffered a defeat in over three years. Bunch also trains out of the American Kickboxing Academy, which is home to such fighters as UFC Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier, former WSOF Welterweight Champion Jon Fitch, UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, former UFC Middleweight Champion Luke Rockhold, former UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez and more.

It is unknown at this time as to when the newly signed Bunch will return to the Bellator cage, as he was last seen in action on the preliminary card of Bellator 210.
