Volkan Oezdemir has suffered a knee injury and has been pulled from UFC Fight Island 6, where he was scheduled to face Nikita Krylov.
The fighter announced the news himself through Instagram:
There is no word yet if Krylov will remain on the card, as UFC officials are seeking a replacement opponent for him to fight. Krylov (27-7-0) has won two of four in his second run with the UFC, with those victories coming over Ovince St. Preux and Johnny Walker. Krylov has competed a total of 34 times as a professional MMA fighter and just two of those bouts went the distance.
UFC Fight Island 6 takes place on Saturday, October 17 from Fight Island in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi with Brian Ortega and Chan Sung Jung headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
