Another former UFC fighter is heading over the to Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship promotion as Thiago Alves has inked a multi-fight deal with the organization.
Bare Knuckle FC President David Feldman told MMA Fighting that Alves is expected to debut in April of May.
“I am very excited to have Thiago on the BKFC roster,” Feldman said. “He is very experienced and always has an entertaining fight. He will make his debut in April or May. We really expect big things from him. He’s a great fighter and a great person.”
Alves is coming off of an extensive run under the UFC banner, where he picked up notable victories over John Alessio, Chris Lytle, Karo Parisyan, Matt Hughes, Josh Koscheck, John Howard, Jordan Mein, Patrick Cote and Max Griffin. Alves’ last bout in the promotion came late last year at UFC Fight Night Washington DC, suffering a first round submission loss to Tim Means. Alves has also previously challenged for the UFC Welterweight Title, losing to then champion Georges St. Pierre at UFC 100.
There are no Bare Knuckle FC events scheduled for April or May at this time, but announcements for those cards are expected soon.
