While signing the contract, an ecstatic Ortiz could be heard saying the following in the Instagram video (via Guilherme Cruz of MMA Fighting):

“I’m ready to fight. I’m ready to kick some f*cking ass. I’m back!!! Let’s have some fun.”

Ortiz (20-12-1) enters the promotion while riding a two fight winning streak, defeating the duo of Chuck Liddell and Chael Sonnen. Ortiz is also a former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, defeating Wanderlei Silva at UFC 25 in April of 2000 to claim the gold. Ortiz had also challenged for the Bellator MMA Light Heavyweight Title, losing to then champion Liam McGeary at Bellator 142 in September of 2015.

There is no word yet on when Ortiz is going to be making his promotional debut or whom that bout will come against.
