Irwin Rivera has found himself in jail after allegedly stabbing his sisters.

The three-fight UFC veteran, who is coming off a split decision loss to Andre Ewell, was arrested and jailed at the Main Detention Center in West Palm Beach, Florida at 12:08 p.m. on Thursday. Rivera has been charged with two counts of first-degree premeditated murder.

He is currently being held without bond, per Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office records. Details on the arrest are scarce, but MMA reporter Eric Kowal reports that Rivera allegedly stabbed his sisters.

Rivera (10-6) was scheduled to fight Ray Rodriguez (16-7) at a UFC Fight Night on March 13. It looks like Rodriguez will need a new opponent, however, according to the promotion.

“UFC is aware of the recent incident involving Irwin Rivera and subsequently received information from his management that he has been exhibiting behavior consistent with mental health issues,” the UFC said in a statement to MMA Fighting. “The allegations are extremely troubling and the organization is currently gathering additional information. The investigation is ongoing and any potential next steps including disciplinary action or medical attention will be determined upon the conclusion. Furthermore, UFC has informed Rivera’s management that he will not be offered a bout at this time.”
