Kevin Lee has been released from the UFC.
According to MMA Fighting, former interim lightweight championship challenger Kevin Lee has been released from his UFC deal.
Lee, 29, has lost five of his last seven outings since 2017. The 'Motown Phenom' last competed inside of the UFC octagon this past August where he was on the wrong side of a unanimous decision against Daniel Rodriguez at UFC Vegas 35. The loss against Rodriguez marked Lee's first bout since March 2020, where he was submitted by current UFC Lightweight Champion Charles Oliviera and then the Detroit-native took a lengthy period off to repair some nagging injuries.
Earlier this month, Lee received a six-month suspension after testing positive for amphetamines, which Lee admitted to using Adderall to treat ADHD.
Lee's UFC run ends after putting together an 18-7 record and boasting an 11-7 record inside of the UFC octagon.
