Triple H just announced that the next NXT TakeOver will take place in Toronto in the fall.
In a tweet by Triple H sent early September 2, the former WWE Champion said that due to the overwhelming number of requests, NXT's next WWE Network exclusive pay-per-view will take place outside of the United States for the second time ever. The date for the show is November 19, which is also the day before WWE has Survivor Series in the same arena, the Air Canada Centre.
The last time NXT moved outside the states for a TakeOver special was last December when the NXT roster traveled across the pond all the way to London, England. Here is part of a WWE.com article making the announcement official.
STAMFORD, Conn. – WWE announced that for the first time in WWE history, Air Canada Centre in Toronto will host NXT TakeOver on Saturday, Nov. 19, WWE Survivor Series on Sunday, Nov. 20, and Raw on Monday, Nov. 21, as part of WWE Survivor Series weekend.
The first NXT TakeOver in Canada will feature NXT Champion Shinsuke Nakamura, NXT Women’s Champion Asuka and NXT Tag Team Champions The Revival, and will be broadcast live on WWE Network. Tickets for NXT TakeOver will go on sale Friday, Sept. 23, at 10 a.m. ET.
NXT had a couple of live events scheduled for late September throughout Canada, but they are now canceled. People who bought tickets for those shows will be refunded fully, regardless of what point in time they bought tickets. This is now the fifth NXT TakeOver to take place outside of their usual home arena at Full Sail University.
