Billy Corgan turned heads earlier this year when he announced his intent to acquire the National Wrestling Alliance. This week, the company announced a big step forward in their first Worlds title match under his watch.
On the latest episode of "Ten Pounds of Gold" Corgan revealed that NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Tim Storm will defend his title against former TNA World Champion Nick Aldis, formerly known as Magnus. The two will lock horns on November 12 in Los Angeles on Championship Wrestling From Hollywood.
Storm, the NWA's 52-year old world champion, is the oldest in the history of the title and has been the subject of a docuseries by the NWA as it transitions to Corgan. Aldis, the husband of WWE Superstar Mickie James, has been largely absent from the national wrestling scene since leaving TNA Wrestling in 2015.
Aldis would return to TNA, which went through several name changes, earlier this year to drop the GFW Global Championship to Alberto El Patron, which he'd held since 2015.
Fightful.com will have a report from NWA's World Title match in November. You can see the full third episode of NWA's "Ten Pounds Of Gold" documentary series in the video player above.
