Paul Felder Wants To Fight Mairbek Taisumov In The United States

Mairbek Taisumov is a fighter who recently broke into the UFC Lightweight Division rankings for the first time in his career.

Paul Felder is another top ranked fighter who wouldn’t mind fighting Taisumov, but he wants that fight to take place in the United States.

Dark Side Of The Cage To Premiere In January, Will Cover Ronda Rousey, Matt Hughes, Kimbo Slice, More

“I see a lot of people calling for that name,” Felder told MMA Junkie. “It depends on where he (Taisumov) wants to fight to be honest. If he can’t fight here in America or something because of visa issues, it’s not going to happen. I’m not looking to go overseas to go to Australia or something like that. That’s just not in the cards right now. I just fought three overseas fights, guys in their hometown, guys in their territory. There’s a lot of good USA cards coming up right now, and I would really like to keep it close to home.”

Taisumov has already competed seven times during his UFC tenure, but none of those fights came in the United States.

Felder wants to start challenging the top fighters in the division and he can only do that by winning his next couple of fights.

“I think I have a couple more fights in me before I really start pushing for high-ranked guys. The top 15 would for sure be nice if possible,” says Felder.

The lightweight contender makes his UFC commentary debut this Saturday Night at UFC Fight Night Pittsburgh.
