WWE UK Champion Pete Dunne made a shocking surprise debut on tonight's episode of WWE Raw.
Emanating from Manchester, Dunne made a surprise appearance on Monday Night Raw to challenge WWE Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore. Dunne would go on to win the match in just a few minutes and get a great ovation from the crowd.
Dunne was a part of WWE's UK Tournament earlier this year, which would see him end up as runner-up to winner Tyler Bate. Months later, Dunne would take on Bate and become UK Champion. He's been defending the title off and on during independent and NXT appearances.
This weekend, Dunne was seen alongside Triple H at an Insane Championship Wrestling event. Triple H has been on record as saying Dunne made a name for himself in 2017.
"If you look at the U.K., there's a lot of talent there: Wolfgang, Trent Seven, Mark Andrews, and more that are out there and will be coming in. That's just what we're dealing with right this second. As that brand becomes bigger and bigger and becomes its own show in the world and becomes more, that bar will rise," said Triple H. "On top of that, twenty-year-old Tyler Bate, who's had that UK Championship since January, been on NXT defending it, been around Europe defending it. (Bate) gets into the ring with Pete Dunne, who I said that night 'make a name for yourself, kid'. And he did just that here tonight. If that didn't solidify how great the talent is in the U.K., nothing will, " he continued.
There's no word yet on if the debut was a one-off or if Dunne will be with the main roster moving forward. Fightful.com will have full, live coverage of WWE Monday Night Raw tonight, including a live, post-show podcast.
