A middleweight division attraction is reportedly headlining the UFC Fight Night Gdansk event as #15 Thiago Santos is in action against Michal Materla.
The main event fight was first reported by Combate.
Santos (15-5-0) enters the fight on the strength of a two bout winning streak, with those victories coming over Jack Marshman and Gerald Meerschaert. Santos is going to be headlining his UFC ever UFC event and he has been with the promotion for over four years. Santos has also seen just two of his eleven bouts in the UFC go the distance, those bouts came at UFC 175 and UFC Fight Night 80.
Materla (24-5-0) is going to be making his UFC debut in this fight and he does so while riding a two fight winning streak. Materla spent the majority of his career competing in the KSW MMA promotion out of Poland, where he held the organization’s middleweight title. Materla has defeated many UFC veterans throughout his career like Jay Silva, Tomasz Drwal, Kendall Grove, Rodney Wallace, Matt Horwich and Rousimar Palhares.
