REPORT: Matt & Jeff Hardy Will NOT Be Re-signing With Impact Wrestling

The Broken Brilliance is leaving the Zone of Impact.

It's being reported by Pro Wrestling Sheet that Matt and Jeff Hardy will not be signing new deals with Impact Wrestling, and sources are saying it's because they felt disrespected during contract negotiations.

Apparently the brothers had agreed to terms on a new 1-year contract back in December, but they had requested a few minor changes, and were simply waiting for a finalized deal.

But as the weeks passed, and as Matt continued to check in, there appeared to be no progress. At least, Matt wasn't getting a straight answer.

The Hardys' lawyer then told Impact that a creative control clause was being requested, a request that was immediately denied.

PWS' source said that the Hardy's lawyer attempted to up negotiations by telling Impact that the brothers had received interest from other companies, to which new President Ed Nordholm allegedly responded "Tell them to go to WWE, then."

Jeff was so upset at that remark that he wanted out, and no longer desired to stay with the company. Matt continued talks, but when a new contract was presented to him last week, the 1-year deal had been changed to a 2-year deal, and that's not all. There were some new terms, one of which stated that Impact was to receive 10% of all his profits outside of the company.

Matt’s attorney advised against signing this new amended deal, so he told Impact he wasn't re-signing. However, he did offer to come to the tapings on Thursday to write off his character. But he was told that they wouldn't be willing to let him on TV without a contract.

Impact officials are attempting to regain possession of the tag title belts, but they're going to have a tough time of it, if Reby Hardy has anything to say about it.
