Materla has yet to comment on why he changed his mind, neither the UFC or KSW MMA have commented on the matter as well.

This situation now leaves Santos without an opponent for the main event fight, UFC officials are currently seeking a replacement to fight Santos.

Santos (15-5-0) enters the fight on the strength of a two bout winning streak, with those victories coming over Jack Marshman and Gerald Meerschaert. Santos is going to be headlining his UFC ever UFC event and he has been with the promotion for over four years. Santos has also seen just two of his eleven bouts in the UFC go the distance, those bouts came at UFC 175 and UFC Fight Night 80.

UFC Fight Night Gdansk takes place on Saturday, October 28 from the Ergo Arena in Gdansk, Poland with Thiago Santos and Michal Materla headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on UFC Fight Pass.
