Report: Vince McMahon No Longer Running 205 Live, Triple H Now In Charge

If you have felt that the presentation on 205 Live has changed in recent weeks, apparently there's a reason why.

A new report out from PWInsider says that Vince McMahon has stepped aside when it comes to handling 205 Live and is no longer putting the show together. The show is now being overseen by Triple H, who has brought back more of the hard hitting style and presentation that was seen during the Cruiserweight Classic. This decision was made two weeks ago, starting with the episode where the Cruiserweight title tournament was announced.

Rob Van Dam Comments On Whether A Wrestling Offseason Would Work

According to the report, behind the scenes there were questions why the brand wasn't resonating with people. McMahon believed that a character driven show was the best way to get the brand over, hence why Enzo Amore was moved to the brand and became the center focus. There were supporters behind the scenes who felt that putting personalities on people a la Raw and Smackdown wouldn't showcase what made the cruiserweights different.

As far as the 205 Live house shows go, they are still on the table after the two shows that ran last month. There are no live events scheduled at this time, but the idea is to start up again once the new presentation feels familiar.

The lead writer for 205 Live is currently Jonathan Baeckstrom, who was been with the company since August 2013.
