WWE issued a statement on the matter, declaring that the top cruiserweight contender had been suspended.

"WWE has zero tolerance for matters involving domestic violence, and per our policy, Rich Swann has been indefinitely suspended following his arrest."

According to the police report issued, the attack  was on 28-year old wrestler Su Yung, real name Vannarah Riggs and Swann's wife.. The arrest report was made public after several requests by media.

Per the report, Swann was driving and critiquing Yung's performance when he became angry. Yung feared that the situation would get out of hand and got out of the vehicle near 2400 SE Hawthorne road. Swann allegedly also got out, and dragged Yung back into the car by her head and arm. Prior to this Yung told police she'd asked Swann to pull over the car. When arrested, Swann told police that she got in the vehicle on her own.

One witness was cited in the police report as seeing Yung jump out of the vehicle while it was moving to get away from Swann, which caused him to also leave the vehicle. The car would hit a telephone pole on the corner of NE 15th street and E University Avenue.
