WWE posted about Strong Thursday night on its Twitter account:

Triple H and Strong also marked the occasion on social media:

Aries was both a teammate of Strong's -- winning the ROH World Tag Titles when they were part of the Generation Next stable -- and rivals, after that stable disbanded. Strong ended a lengthy tenure in ROH as one of only two wrestlers in that promotion's history to be Triple Crown Champions: winning the World Title, World TV Title and World Tag Titles. He also has held the PWG World Title, the PWG Tag Titles, and a plethora of other championships for independent wrestling promotions. Strong also had a stint in TNA in 2005 and 2006, competing in the X Division.

Strong's debut match in NXT is expected to air on next week's episode, which will be broadcast Oct. 19 on the WWE Network.
